A Difficult Choice for Zelensky!

The end of the war in Ukraine may now be in sight following the issue of a detailed American peace plan that meets most of Russia’s legitimate demands. Donald Trump has told the Ukrainians they’ve got to accept it by Thanksgiving Day, the 27th November, or face the consequences – which according to Reuters sources includes a threat to cut US intelligence and arms supplies to Ukraine.

Left challenge in Camden!

A lively meeting of local activists was held at the Indian YMCA in Central London last Wednesday to mobilise grass roots support in Keir Starmer’s constituency for the Camden People’s Alliance (CPA), which is standing in the May local elections in co-ordination with Your Party and the Greens.

Love is in the Air…

…or so many of us thought back in the 1970s when the forces of liberation were storming through the Global South and massive peace movements could march through the heart of the imperialist world to demand the end of imperialist wars. The words, now largely forgotten outside the ranks of Dundee United fans, were sometimes amended to “peace is in the air” in those halcyon days of the last genuinely Labour government that from time to time would pay lip-service to the cause of peace that commanded significant support amongst the labour movement of the day.
